A
reading to the male and female’s relationship in the social sectors
(Kurdistan
society is the field of this research)
When we talk about women’s case, it is possible in any
community that we talk about that humanitarian sector in which it consists of
both genders. One of the two genders, which form majority, is involved in the
problem or it may have a case and it waits for a solution. That is it has a
problem and faces an obstacle and it prevents or does not give a complete
chance to that member to have its role or act freely in its field of work or to
reflect its personality in his deeds and becomes a history creator. Thus a
gender that cannot be a history creator and is prevented from it, surely it
does not run the history but the history runs it. Perhaps through this running,
it may reach a good platform or it may suddenly reach a bad platform and
remaining in that bad situation it may face many dilemma and calamities.
In fact the Kurdish
community in its history very rarely it take its individual’s features and
problems to the historical levels. Kurds’ individual’s suffering or pleasure if
any they have not become historical subjects as individuals like our general
battles to survive, our organizing politically, our uprising and campaigns or
our being victims in the enemy plans and traps which all these have become
historical subjects.
Search the
history of the past thirty or twenty years, you will not find a healthy humanitarian
or social items that has been written in our country or there are not research
items written on individuals whether they are males or females. Surely the
political, wars, uprising and rebel histories are all men materials and they
are written and recorded by men’s names. Women’s feature in building up these
histories never mentioned or they appeared very seldom and if any their names
are connected to brother, father or husband or to their masculinity families’
titles. Again a family is a manly compound and it inherited from generation to
generation. In our community only the man can be supportive and later be a
shelter.
I
previously in another essay published in other newspapers talked about why and
how the (man) wins that bet to jot down history forms and later to employ the
benefits of the history for his own interest. And how the women lose that bet
and let men to take the lion share or at least be his partner that is have an
equal right as a man concerning the interests. I do not want to enter the same
subject and pass it and talk about the de facto that lies behind the
lengthening of such relationships among the different genders of our community
and among a like communities. Why have they made men be in power and owe all
the means of interests and made women be acceptance and silent creature and be
beautiful in that way? And if you hit them on their heads they will remain
silent and utter nothing!
Men have won the bet
once in the history and this has become an absolute fact. Later the interests
and relationships have been formalized under the influence of that bet winning.
A gradual has been created in which men are superior and else things have been
grown and run according to men’s desires. So if a gender and it become in power
obtain the interests, will he not think of strengthening and stabilizing the
achievements and to insure the interests? Surely, we respond “Yes”.
When we say
yes, thus from that yes we will know the previous possibilities and why the
social relationships and the male power interests are so strongly reserved and
stabilized in this way. Thus the process is a normal result of the mistakes
that a gender commits them against the other one in order to save its own
interests in the rank that it acquired them stage by stage.
Getting power was received
so easily at some times and people in power practiced absolute power without
any challenge. Till the time that is not very accurate when it was, but mostly
it might be appeared at the cultural rising thoughts in which the tyrannized
gender whose interests are violated have thought and said what is the reason of
this imbalance and tyranny against us and for what purpose?
But do not be
surprised when the female gender thought and asked that question, it does not
make its inquiry to correct the matters and make it the beginning of changing
the humanity tyrannized relationships. But this question has become the
beginning of a struggle between both sides and it continues till nowadays.
After some years of freedom in our country, we recently think about what way is
the cure to end this struggle and when it will end or it loosens a little. Till
the time when the tyrants and tyrannized ones accept and have the capacity of
mutual understanding.
We must confess that
religion has complete influence on the relationships’ formations between both
genders. It is obvious that I say religion I do not mean Islam only gives us
these formations and other religions do not. No, Christian religion also tried
to have its responds to the human beings’ questions.
Later the monks and clerics
worked to organize the man’s needs according to their religions’ responds in
order to let their religions live and bright. But the Christian people reviewed
their laws earlier than us and they felt that they were in need of lawful
changes. As a result they have changed the laws and put reflected their ideas
in those changes and consequently Christianity retreated. Newer shape and more
humanitarian law have come to be existing that we can say a civil law. Surly in
the civil law the relationships are more humanitarian.
Here in our country till now
Shariah is the cornerstone of all the law articles. So somehow they acquired
sacredness. Whenever changes intend to be done the voice of religion protectors
will rise and they stand in opposition against changes and they become law
protectors. That is why starting to civilize law articles in our country go on
slowly. If you want to adopt anew tradition in a traditional community and to
familiarize it, it will be impossible to get any results unless you impose it
by a law because many times you show it through media suitably and beautifully
but they will not receive it. This is so because there is a memory in the
people’s minds, which is called religion heritage and it created it through
punishments and rewards or solver and offense or right and false teachings.
Most of the things especially when they are new, they will be taken to that
memory council. If they do not take green light, they will not pass through or
they will pass through very heavily. That is why changing the relationship of
both genders and the relationship of power between two human beings, they are
still remained as a problem in our community and all say accurately and clearly
women problems and obviously it is the problem of power. That is in one hand
one side practice powers, govern and protect itself and in the other hand there
is other side is put in the circle of opposition. It does not receive the
opposition grants therefore it fights to be in power, organizes itself, thinks
and tries thus anything related to power and interests it is politic. You
cannot name it other names thus the women problem is a political problem and
not a cultural one. It is right that it has relations to culture but the social
cultures and concept’s capacity cannot have enough room for the problem.
The problem is a
political one but it takes place in one of the social sections. Any one who
wins that political fight, it will set the social and cultural relationships
according to its own interests. At last the women who enter struggle because of
their problems, they know and the must know from what angle and side direct
their message and they treat with the side that is ready to give up some of its
interests and distinctions. Thus this giving up is an achievement to the other
party. Do they consider males in power enemy and work to defeat them? Or do
they behave as monitors and they must agree with them? These are the political
agenda that women must know to deal with. Let them come out from the scope of
that problem and look from outside to our countrywomen meetings whom they
gathered around various slogans to struggle to achieve their ideas on the
future of the female in our society. For this purpose they organize and hold
different seminars and discussion meetings. They have media. They do
demonstrate. They rise their voices! Aren’t these the same activities that the
other civil organizations and societies doing and fight in the elections in
order to enter the power circle or to be close to power?
Therefore if the women in our
country are able to get the degree of the legal authorities and find their
rooms there, they can through that plan work to better their fight for power
that happen in the social sections. But with one condition they must not try to
behave like men or think like them. This needs a high quality of personalities
and the women who reaches such posts must consider herself the owner of the
problem and not say “ I have pass through all these candidacy process and I do
not have problems as a woman and I must safe my own power!”
Except all the mentioned
things. Avoiding naming the problems whether they are political or social!
Avoiding how to read the problem. It is very important that the alike
struggles, the various point of views and the loyal efforts of human case to
reach a level. A correction to be made to the imbalance of humanitarian in our
community and other communities in which women case remain and work like a
chronic illness.
It is very important in
that close future (I mean the future of Iraqi Kurdistan after war) we all have
some hope in it, we decrease some our relationships and behaviors violence.
Lets accept each other concepts and principles and make living together our
life base. All of us are in need of calmness.
